Bangladesh — A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000.Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks.
"I heard voices of the rescue workers for the past several days. I kept hitting the wreckage with sticks and rods just to attract their attention," she told the private Somoy TV from her hospital bed as doctors and nurses milled about, giving her saline and checking her condition. "No one heard me. It was so bad for me. I never dreamed I'd see the daylight again," she said. "There was some dried food around me. I ate the dried food for 15 days. The last two days I had nothing but water. I used to drink only a limited quantity of water to save it. I had some bottles of water around me," she said. Once Reshma finally got their attention, the crews ordered the cranes and bulldozers to immediately stop work and used handsaws and welding and drilling equipment to cut through the iron rod and debris still trapping her. They gave her water, oxygen and saline as they worked to free her. When Reshma was freed after 40 minutes, the crowd erupted in wild cheers. She was rushed to a military hospital in an ambulance, but her rescuers said she was in shockingly good condition, despite her ordeal. Abdur Razzak, a warrant officer with the military's engineering department who first spotted her in the wreckage, said she could even walk. "She was fine, no injuries. She was just trapped. The space was wide," said Lt. Col. Moyeen, an army official at the scene. Reshma told her rescuers there were no more survivors in her area. Workers began tearing through the nearby rubble anyway, hoping to find another person alive. "Reshma told me there were three others with her. They died. She did not see anybody else alive there," said Maj. Gen. Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy, the head of the local military units. "We will continue our search until a survivor or a dead body is there." The woman survived for more than two weeks in temperatures that touched the mid 90s. She scrounged for whatever food she could find, Suhrawardy said. Then, when the workers with bulldozers and cranes got close to the area where she was trapped, she took a steel pipe and began banging it to attract attention, Razzak said. The workers ran into the dark rubble, eventually getting flashlights, to free her, he said. Reshma's mother and her sister, Asma, rushed to the hospital to meet her. Hundreds of people who had been engaged in the grim job of removing decomposing bodies from the site raised their hands together in prayer for her survival.
"Allah, you are the greatest, you can do anything. Please allow us all to rescue the survivor just found," said a man on a loudspeaker leading the supplicants. "We seek apology for our sins. Please pardon us, pardon the person found alive." Workers at the site had been clearing the rubble since the collapse April 24. More than 2,500 people were rescued in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. However, no survivors had been found in the wreckage since April 28, when Shahin Akter was found amid the wreckage. As workers tried to free her, a fire broke out and she died of smoke inhalation. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, called Reshma in the hospital, and the rescued woman began crying on the phone, Suhrawardy said. She told Hasina: "I am fine, please pray for me," he said. Hasina, whose government has come under criticism for its lax oversight over the powerful garment industry, was racing to the hospital by helicopter to meet her, and congratulated the rescuers, officials said. "This is an unbelievable feat," Hasina was quoted as saying by her assistant, Mahbubul Haque Shakil. The death toll from the disaster soared past 1,000 Friday, with officials confirming that 1,038 bodies had been recovered from the rubble of the fallen building, which had housed five garment factories employing thousands of workers.
The disaster has raised alarm about the often deadly working conditions in Bangladesh's $20 billion garment industry, which provides clothing for major retailers around the globe. Brig. Gen. Mohammed Siddiqul Alam Shikder, an army official overseeing the recovery work said the bodies being recovered were badly decomposed and identification was difficult. "We are working carefully," he said. "If we get any ID card or mobile phone with them, we can still identify them. Our sincere effort is to at least hand over the bodies to the families." Brig. Gen. Azmal Kabir, a top official of the military's engineering section, said more than half of the estimated 7,000 tons of debris have been removed from the site but he did not know when the work would be finished.

Open Source (free software) software is currently used in many companies and projects. Open source, or free software as Richard Stallman defines it, means having access to the source code of a piece of software. Open source software played a very important role in the technology market explosion of the late 90s. Rising dot-coms and technology companies seeking to stretch their venture funding as far as possible made extensive use of free software solutions Open source software tends to out-perform its proprietary counterparts in a variety of areas, qualitative arguments for freedom aside. When examining free software, one will find that it is usually more reliable, more secure, performs better, or provides more functionality than a comparable closed source product, and often excels in more than one of these areas – not to mention that free software is almost always a better value. Open Source software is driven by people freely donating of their time and talents to improve the project. Open standards exist to enable interoperability in a marketplace of multiple competing implementations while ensuring certain minimum requirements for interoperability are met. Free Software advocates believe software is akin to speech and should be free in the sense of “liberty.” The open source method used is the multiseat display manager, aka MDM, maintained by the Center for Scientific Computing and Free Software, aka C3SL. MDM is not an actual display manager like GDM, XDM, or KDM. It is a collection of scripts and programs that detect the hardware of the computer and creates the proper configuration files for a multiseat environment. Free software is a subset of Open Source software. Like the FSF, the OSI also wishes to protect the ability to read, modify, and redistribute source code as a means to enhance the evolution of a piece of software. It acknowledges the pragmatic virtues of free software but does not believe that proprietary software is immoral. All open source software currently available is less user-friendly, which is representative of its lower level of maturity. The gap will soon be filled and they will catch up to their proprietary commercial opponents.

GetDataBack is more than an undelete or file recovery program or a system restore.
GetDataBack will recover your data if the hard drive's partition table, boot record, FAT/MFT or root directory are lost or damaged, data was lost due to a virus attack, the drive was formatted, fdisk has been run, a power failure has caused a system crash, files were lost due to a software failure, files were accidentally deleted. GetDataBack can even recover your data when the drive is no longer recognized by Windows. It can likewise be used even if all directory information - not just the root directory- is missing.
Get everything back, The safe and easy way.
Advanced algorithms make sure that all directories and sub directories are put together as they were, and that long file names are reconstructed correctly. GetDataBack is read-only, meaning the program will never attempt to write to the drive you are about to recover. Our software enables an inexperienced user to conduct their own data recovery by guiding them through three easy to understand steps. If you are an advanced user there are options to adjust the recovery process and improve the results.
  Free lifetime updates
GetDataBack comes with free updates for the lifetime of the software. Unlike competitors who require you to buy a new version every year, our first GetDataBack customers from 2001 are still enjoying the newest versions of our software!
Recover files over your local network or serial cable
This feature enables you to run GetDataBack on one computer ("remote") while accessing the drives of another computer ("host"). Data Recovery Wizard increases the odds of recovering files by not only recovering deleted files but also files from damaged disks, from formatted disks and from memory cards or storage devices. It can help you recover files after a hard disk crash and can recover RAW data. This recovery software supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS/NTFS5 file systems. Data Recovery Wizard does not have a deep or quick scan per se, but its scan options include a deleted file scan, a complete recovery scan and a partition recovery scan. The deleted file scan performs the simplest recovery task of discovering deleted files or files emptied from the recycle bin. The complete recovery scan looks for all recoverable files and takes the longest. The partition recovery scan can help you recover data from damaged, reformatted or corrupt partitions. The software has helpful sort tools for finding exactly the files you need, and you can save searches to save time in subsequent scans. Data recovery software for Windows is a do-it-yourself solution that is easy to use and less expensive than hiring a data recovery service. However, there are a few precautions to keep in mind. First, do not install the software onto the compromised disk. Either install it onto a different disk or to a separate PC that you can attach to the disk drive. Data recovery software feature multiple functions with algorithms designed to address each step to recovering files. More specifically, it has automated functions like file recovery, partition recovery, and file repair ; and may contain more complex operations like drive access, drive repair, sector cloning of failing media, sector imaging to a network or secondary media, and sector editing through a Hex editor . Data recovery from hard discs, RAID drives, servers, notebooks, laptops, computers or tapes is a very sensitive procedure so you need a lot of technical know-how in order to get the job done and not make things worse. When you call a data recovery Miami specialist in your area, you might need to do some investigation to find Miami's finest. To recover lost files not only do you need a fast professional service but also one that takes security seriously. Without using the correct procedures and precautions, successful recovery would not be possible.

Internet and telecommunication networks live on undersea cable networks. And like clockwork, every so often we have cable cuts which disrupt the flow of information. A recent cut near Egypt has impacted millions of Internet users in Asia, Middle East and Africa. It is like Groundhog Day! Once again an undersea cable has been cut — the South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 4 (aka SEA-ME-WE 4) cable and that is causing an internet (and communications) slowdown in and around Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia. The cut was said to be near Alexandria in Egypt. Tata Communications – previously Videsh Sanchar Nigam LimitedIndia – administers the network. While the cut was on a single cable, it came at an unfortunate time as a few other major cables were in “maintenance mode” and that has resulted in problems for service providers across the region. Our sources in the telecom community confirmed that two other cables — Europe India Gateway (EIG) and India-Middle East-Western Europe (IMEWE) — were in ‘maintenance’ mode when the SWM4 got cut. The result is downstream congestion on networks that are going to India and around the Indian Ocean. UAE’s Etisalat reported that the internet speeds were down by as much as 60 percent in some locations.
Sunil Tagare, who runs the BuySellBandwidth.com, on his blog wrote,

It’s not good enough to say since you have 10 cables even if going through Egypt, you have route diversity. And as today’s 4 cable cuts have demonstrated, any time the cables are along similar paths, there is a high likelihood that all of them might be cut at the same time.

He was arguing that four major cable — I-Me-We, Sea-Me-We-4, EIG and TE North – were impacted at the same time and thus causing problems in the Middle East and Asia. It is not a smart way to think about the networks, especially since we depend so heavily on many of these optical cables. Tagare’s argument makes sense to me, for we have seen this pattern repeat itself a few times. As I wrote earlier, there are three major cables that connect Europe and Middle East – SeaMeWe-3, SeaMeWe-4 and FLAG Euro-Asia — and they follow the same path underneath the Mediterranean Sea, making them vulnerable to cuts. In 2010, the SEA-ME-WE-4 experienced a cut causing large scale disruptions, two years after the cable experienced an outage. Things have become more acute now considering that SEA-ME-WE4 is a lifeline for the African internet.
SEACOM, an African consortium which owns the big African Internet cable, later confirmed the outage on its website and said that it was working towards restoration. SEACOM had already been experiencing problems since March 24 and was in the middle of fixing those before it was hit by the cable cut.
Mark Simpson, CEO of SEACOM, said in a press note:

The cause of the outage is a physical cable cut some kilometres north of the coast of Egypt in the Mediterranean Sea. This is not likely to be known until the cable is repaired in the coming week or two and the damaged section is recovered from the seabed and inspected. However we suspect, based on our experience with sub-sea systems and the nature of the sea area where the cut has occurred, that the most likely cause is external aggression to the cable most probably caused by a larger vessel dragging its anchor across the sea bed. Unfortunately this remains a common cause of damage to cable systems globally, despite our continued efforts to protect the cable with armour, burying, notifications to ships of cable location and exclusion zones.
By the way, SEAMEWE-3 experienced a cut about two months ago (between Singapore and Perth, Australia) and it hasn’t been fixed just yet mostly because the network operator was waiting for Indonesian government permission to fix the cable which is in Indonesian waters.

A baby born with the virus that causes AIDS appears to have been cured, scientists announced Sunday, describing the case of a child from Mississippi who's now two and a half years old and has been off medication for about a year with no signs of infection. There's no guarantee the child will remain healthy, although sophisticated testing uncovered just traces of the virus' genetic material still lingering. If so, it would mark only the world's second reported cure. Specialists say Sunday's announcement, at a major AIDS meeting in Atlanta, offers promising clues for efforts to eliminate HIV infection in children, especially in AIDS-plagued African countries where too many babies are born with the virus. "You could call this about as close to a cure, if not a cure, that we've seen," Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health, who is familiar with the findings, told The Associated Press. A doctor gave this baby faster and stronger treatment than is usual, starting a three-drug infusion within 30 hours of birth. That was before tests confirmed the infant was infected and not just at risk from a mother whose HIV wasn't diagnosed until she was in labor. "I just felt like this baby was at higher-than-normal risk, and deserved our best shot," Dr. Hannah Gay, a pediatric HIV specialist at the University of Mississippi, said in an interview. That fast action apparently knocked out HIV in the baby's blood before it could form hideouts in the body. Those so-called reservoirs of dormant cells usually rapidly reinfect anyone who

stops medication, said Dr. Deborah Persaud of Johns Hopkins Children's Center. She led the investigation that deemed the child "functionally cured," meaning in long-term remission even if all traces of the virus haven't been completely eradicated. Next, Persaud's team is planning a study to try to prove that, with more aggressive treatment of other high-risk babies. "Maybe we'll be able to block this reservoir seeding," Persaud said. No one should stop anti-AIDS drugs as a result of this case, Fauci cautioned. But "it opens up a lot of doors" to research if other children can be helped, he said. "It makes perfect sense what happened." Better than treatment is to prevent babies from being born with HIV in the first place. About 300,000 children were born with HIV in 2011, mostly in poor countries where only about 60 percent of infected pregnant women get treatment that can keep them from passing the virus to their babies. In the U.S., such births are very rare because HIV testing and treatment long have been part of prenatal care. "We can't promise to cure babies who are infected. We can promise to prevent the vast majority of transmissions if the moms are tested during every pregnancy," Gay stressed. The only other person considered cured of the AIDS virus underwent a very different and risky kind of treatment — a bone marrow transplant from a special donor, one of the rare people who is naturally resistant to HIV. Timothy Ray Brown of San Francisco has not needed HIV medications in the five years since that transplant. The Mississippi case shows "there may be different cures for different populations of HIV-infected people," said Dr. Rowena Johnston of amFAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. That group funded Persaud's team to explore possible cases of pediatric cures. It also suggests that scientists should look back at other children who've been treated since shortly after birth, including some reports of possible cures in the late 1990s that were dismissed at the time, said Dr. Steven Deeks of the University of California, San Francisco, who also has seen the findings. "This will likely inspire the field, make people more optimistic that this is possible," he said. In the Mississippi case, the mother had had no prenatal care when she came to a rural emergency room in advanced labor. A rapid test detected HIV. In such cases, doctors typically give the newborn low-dose medication in hopes of preventing HIV from taking root. But the small hospital didn't have the proper liquid kind, and sent the infant to Gay's medical center. She gave the baby higher treatment-level doses. The child responded well through age 18 months, when the family temporarily quit returning and stopped treatment, researchers said. When they returned several months later, remarkably, Gay's standard tests detected no virus in the child's blood. Ten months after treatment stopped, a battery of super-sensitive tests at half a dozen laboratories found no sign of the virus' return. There were only some remnants of genetic material that don't appear able to replicate, Persaud said. In Mississippi, Gay gives the child a check-up every few months: "I just check for the virus and keep praying that it stays gone." The mother's HIV is being controlled with medication and she is "quite excited for her child," Gay added.

Garlic sales are up. Wooden crosses are a hot commodity. That can only mean one thing: Vampire on the loose!
But this isn't part of a movie script or book. It's a real-life event in the Serbian town of Zarozje (map) , where last month the local council issued a public health warning that the resident vampire, Sava Savanovic, may be on the prowl. (See "Pictures: Toothless 'Vampire' Skeleton Unearthed in Bulgaria." )
The vampire scare was sparked by reports that an old mill where the vampire allegedly lived has collapsed. According to ABC News, the town's mayor, Miodrag Vujetic, said: "People are worried, everybody knows the legend of this vampire and the thought that he is now homeless and looking for somewhere else [to live] and possibly other victims is terrifying ... "
Then again, how frightened should you be of a vampire who, as the story goes, can turn into a butterfly? To find out, we spoke with Mark Collins Jenkins, the author of Vampire Forensics , and forensic archeologist and anthropologist Matteo Borrini.
Is this vampire alert an effort to draw tourists or a modern-day manifestation of ancient superstitions?
MCJ: I have no idea, but I would suspect the former. I would approach the story very warily. Vampire belief might be deeply rooted in the Balkans, but I doubt you'll find any "ancient superstition" even there that hasn't been thoroughly tainted by modern vampire lore. Fangs and blood-drinking are generally not present in the old stories. Victims were usually beaten up or suffocated.
Is it crazy that the town council issued a public health warning?
MCJ: Historically speaking, it's not that crazy. In past centuries, outbreaks of vampire hysteria, especially in Central and Eastern Europe, often coincided with outbreaks of tuberculosis and deadly plagues. Peasants had no other way of explaining why everyone was dropping dead but by blaming it on witches and vampires or other supernatural creatures. In 19th-century New England, tuberculosis wasted entire families, one after another. Superstitious people believed that the first to die was somehow feeding on his surviving family members. (Related: "'Vampire of Venice' Unmasked: Plague Victim & Witch?" )
Why did people begin believing in vampires?
MB: Especially between the 16th and 18th centuries, little was known about what happens to the body after death. During plagues and epidemics, mass graves were continually reopened to bury new dead. People sometimes exhumed the bodies of the diseased to look for possible causes. Reports about vampires describe exhumations weeks or months after death, during the body's decay.
MCJ: Bodies weren't embalmed back then. They rot, to be quite frank, in grossly different ways. If a bunch of people in the village started dying in mysterious ways, they'd dig up the first one to die, see that his corpse didn't look quite right, assume that was blood flowing down those cheeks (it's called purge fluid in modern forensics, a natural byproduct of decomposition, but it's not blood), and generally burn the body. End of vampire.
Savanovic supposedly survived in spirit as a butterfly. Are there other twists on the classic vampire story?
MB: Sometimes it was thought that the body turned into a wolf or dog because near the grave of the vampire, there were footsteps of these animals. Actually, the earth had been disturbed by stray and hungry dogs attracted by the smell of the decomposing body.
Why is garlic anathema to vampires?
MCJ: People used to believe that strong-smelling stuff like garlic was apotropaic, meaning able to ward off evil spirits. But the specific garlic-vampire connection was popularized by 19th and 20th century novels and movies. A kind of [Romany] vampire, for example, is instead deterred by burning turmeric. Garlic won't bother them.
How do modern interpretations of vampires differ from older ones?
MB: Ancient reports speak about vampires as bloated corpses of ordinary people with blood around the mouth. In the movies, the dead are charming, seductive, often aristocratic, or with superhuman powers.
MCJ: The modern fascination with vampires is fueled by books and movies. Since the early 19th century, that has turned on illicit romance. Forbidden love. It was somehow thrilling to cross the line and love a vampire, or to be seduced by one. Hardly any of that is in the folklore, though. (See: "Vampire Expert Digs His Fangs Into 'True Blood,' 'Twilight.'" )
Has there ever been any proof that a vampire existed?
MB: No. All the old reports about vampires talk about real events and real exhumation of bodies of suspected vampires. But they are misinterpretations of the transformative phenomena of corpses: Every exhumed vampire was actually a normal, decomposing body.
Why does this belief in vampires hang on?
MCJ: Fear of the dead. The same reason that people, deep down, are still afraid of ghosts. A vampire is a dead body brought back to life, so to speak, perhaps by the devil or an evil spirit.
MB: I think it's connected to two deep aspects of human thought: death and blood. Death is our inevitable destiny. Blood is our life fluid. The vampire connects these two aspects in a paradoxical way—it is a corpse who escapes death by drinking blood.

A Malaysian airline has designated adults-only "quiet zones" on its planes to keep passengers from being disturbed by loud babies and toddlers.
Air Asia X said its five-times-a-week flights from Australia's Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur now have "quiet zones" in seven rows of economy class reserved exclusively for passengers over age 12, the Brisbane (Australia) Courier-Mail reported Friday.
Tickets for the quiet zone cost an extra $15 for the 6-hour flights.
"It is important to emphasize that we are a very family friendly airline and welcome all passengers," an airline spokesman said. "It's a seating innovation introduced to provide greater choice for guests. The quiet zone seating area comprises 63 seats out of a total seating capacity of 377, so it only applies to a small section of the aircraft. There's plenty of room for families with children."

It’s already hard enough to sleep when it’s hot outside, but what if the heat of your brain is also adding to insomnia? Researchers reported this week that cooling down your lobes can help those with sleep problems doze off faster and stay asleep longer.Scientists from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine presented their cold brain idea at the annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, says Time, with the idea that previous studies already showed insomniacs have increased levels of activity in their frontal lobes. When you’re awake, your body keeps itself at a higher temperature to do things like plan, organize and be logical. So if it keeps doing that at night, and stays at a higher temp, it could affect sleep.Dr. Daniel Buysse, a psychiatrist at the university, and his team gave 12 insomniacs a cap with cool circulating water inside. With those on, it took around 13 minutes to fall asleep, compared to the 16 minutes for healthy controls. They also slept for 89% of their time in bed, similar to normal controls. Now we just need someone to invent a comfortable cooling cap for everyday consumers who might not want to take sleep aids. Someone get on that!

    Logitech Z906 Speaker System Review
It doesn't matter how hard your earphones pound your eardrums with cranium shaking noise, you can't truly call yourself a power user unless you're ticking off the neighbors and scaring the hell out of the dog with a surround sound setup that rattles the walls and punches copious amounts of bass. Without it, you might as well give your man-card away to someone who plans on fulfilling the requirements for membership in an illustrious club that demands everything be over the top.

Logitech's famed Z-5500 system fit the bill, and there are many who consider it to be the king of multimedia speakers. But a king's reign can only last so long before either being usurped, or passing the torch to a successor. In this case, it's the latter, with Logitech's new Z906 speaker system stepping up to the throne as the company's new flagship speaker-set. Like the Z-5500, the Z906 comes ready to tackle your entire entertainment center with enough inputs to accommodate up to six devices at once, including your TV, DVD, DVR, Blu-ray player, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, iPod, and of course your PC or Mac. It has a Class-D amplifier, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS decoding, 500 watts (RMS) of power, and an 8-inch side-firing subwoofer to deliver the kind of thunderous bass you've come to expect from Logitech. But is it worthy of sitting on the throne once occupied by the Z-5500s? Let's turn the dial up and find out!

User documentation

Going by the numbers, the Z906 has all the makings of a solid 5.1 setup for the living room or PC / game room. It's capable of pumping out 500 watts (RMS), with 165 watts going to the 8-inch, side-firing subwoofer. But what's really great about the Z906 -- and something we'll cover more closely on the following pages -- is how well it blends into an entertainment center. The stackable control console is compact and comes with a wireless remote, while the satellites are sleek looking with rubber strips on the bottom instead of speaker stands, making them easy to place.
Inside the Z906 box, users will find the 8-inch subwoofer, four front and rear satellites, a center channel satellite, the stackable control pod, speaker wires, and a 6-channel direct input cable for connecting the speaker system to your PC.

The included speaker wires are only 18-gauge -- plenty sufficient for mainstream use -- but the nice thing here is that you can replace them with thicker wires since the satellites and subwoofer all use standard color-coded spring clip terminals. Logitech also marked the end of each positive speaker wire with a red border, so even if this is your first time hooking up a speaker system, there's little chance something will go wrong.

Whereas the Z-5500 speaker set looked like it belonged in a computer room, the Z906 is much sleeker and would have a better time blending in with a modest entertainment center, if that's where you plan to use it. The speakers sport a light black/dark grey, plastic exterior with a non-removable metal grille covering the driver. Though it's made of plastic, the speakers feel solid and slightly heavy.

We whipped out our allen wrench to take a peek inside one of the satellite speakers. The Z906's 3-inch satellites are sealed and use paper cones. There's no tweeter to help out with the highs, and Logitech instead relies on a compression driver design with phase plugs to extend the high frequency response and reproduce the entire sound spectrum. Each satellite is fed 67 watts (RMS) of power for a total of 335 watts

As previously mentioned, the satellites (and subwoofer) all sport color-coded spring clip terminals, so you're only limited to the size of the wire you can jam into the opening. There's no love for the banana plug loving crowd, which isn't surprising for a multimedia speaker-set. The Z906 satellites also come with screw threads in the back in case you want to mount them to your wall. If going that route, you'll need to supply your own hardware though.

We know what you're really interested in, and that's the subwoofer. Audiophiles place a high value on subwoofers to accurately reproduce those rumbling lows, and regular Joes want to feel the thunderous bass rattle their internal organs. The one included with the Z906 speaker system is an 8-inch, side-firing, ported sub with a 6th-order bass reflex enclosure. In terms of size, it's a bit of a downgrade compared to the 10-inch subwoofer included with the Z-5500, it's supplied with less power too (165 watts on the Z906's subwoofer versus 187 watts on the Z-5500's).
Setting up a 5.1 speaker system can seem like a daunting experience if you've never done it before. Fortunately for new users, Logitech treats the process as if this is your first rodeo, leaving little room for error along the way.

It starts with the back of the 8-inch subwoofer. Here is where you'll find all the necessary connections for your PC and home theater gear, including a 6-channel direct input (cable included), RCA input, two optical inputs, and a coaxial input. Just below sits the 15-pin console connector, and below that are a series of spring-clip terminals for hooking up all five satellites, each one clearly labeled (rear left, rear right, front left, front right, and center). One thing to note about the 15-pin console connector is that you'll want to be extra careful when plugging it in. We actually managed to bend, and eventually break one of the pins because we didn't line up the plug just right, rendering the entire unit non-functional (it won't power on if all 15 pins aren't intact). Perhaps for the sake of appearance, and to help with location, Logitech shoved the amp inside the Z906's subwoofer rather than have it protrude out the back as with the Z-5500. For those of you concerned about overheating, the subwoofer never felt hot during testing.

Assuming you're more coordinated than we are and managed to plug the control console into the subwoofer without issue, everything should fire right up. The control console serves as a HUD of sorts, with orange LEDs indicating which input you're using, the type of decoding selected, volume level, and which speakers are firing. There's quite a bit you can accomplish with the compact control console. There's a mute button, a level select button to adjust the volume on each speaker/subwoofer individually, and an effect select button with the following options:

Stereo 3D: Provides a 3D surround sound effect through all speakers
Stereo 4.1: Plays stereo through both front and both rear satellites, plus the subwoofer
Stereo 2.1: Plays stereo through both the front satellites and the subwoofer

The control pod itself is relatively small and designed to stack with your other home theater gear, such as placing it on top of your receiver or DVD player.

On the right side of the control pod you'll find a headphone jack that, when utilized, mutes all other outputs, and an auxiliary input for connecting external devices like a media player.

We mentioned that the Z906 speaker system would fit right in with an entertainment center, and towards that end Logitech ditched metallic speaker stands in favor of rubber sliders on the bottom. This takes up a little less space and allows the speakers to blend in inconspicuously with the rest of your AV equipment.

Like previous speaker systems from Logitech, the Z906 includes a remote control so you can play the part of conductor from the couch or your bed. It requires three AAA batteries (included) and features an On/Off button, Input Select, Mute, Level Select, Volume/Level Up, Effect Select, Volume/Level Down, and Test button to make sure all the speakers are working.
To test the Logitech Z906 Speaker System, we loaded up a sample of low frequency bass tests, music files, CDs, games, and movies. Our goal is get an overall picture of performance rather than focus on just one area, like gaming. After all, not everyone is going to use these as strictly PC speakers, and likewise not everyone will shove these into their home theater setup. Low Frequency Tests :

We hammered the subwoofer with a series of low frequency files, including those found here . The bass was more than adequate for an entry-level home theater, though it doesn't dip below 35Hz like a dedicated HT subwoofer would (or should). For the frequencies that it did it, the sound wasn't overly muddled. Movies:

While watching movies, the Z906 system again proved that it's more than capable of serving entry-level home theater duties. The satellites pump out volume without distorting, and the bass delivers a respectable amount of oomph for a $400 setup. It doesn't punch you in the gut like subwoofers that cost three times (or more) than the entire Z906 system, but it's a big upgrade over whatever built-in speakers your HDTV is rocking, both in volume and impact.

  Games:

Playing games is where the Logitech Z906 excelled the most. A 5.1 setup makes all the difference in the world, and while some headsets do a superb job of replicating the various sound fields, sitting in the sweet spot of dedicated speakers just has no substitute. The Z906 was designed to hit hard and loud, and it delivers on both fronts.

  Music:

We loaded up a variety of music files and CDs to test the Z906's ability to rock and thump and twang, and so forth. Overall the Z906 performed well, though music listening doesn't play into its strengths. Without tweeters, the satellites struggle a bit with highs, something that was evident when we fired up our Gangsta grass CD. Gangstragrass mixes rap with bluegrass (with brilliant results, mind you), and while the Z906 proved it gets loud, the one-way drivers had a tough time piercing the high notes of the fiddle play. That said, if you're not an audiophile, you'll think we're offer our rocker for picking on the music performance of the Z906. Logitech's flagship multimedia speaker-set doesn't sound bad, it just doesn't put you in the middle of the orchestra.

Performance Summary: Straight and to the point, Logitech has another winning multimedia speaker-set on its hands with the Z906 Speaker System. We've come to expect distortion-free performance at loud levels with hard hitting bass, and the Z906 delivers whether watching movies or playing games, at a street price around $320. The single satellite drivers struggle a bit with highs in music, but unless you're an audiophile, you likely won't notice.

Logitech put a lot of thought into the design of the Z906, taking aim not just at PC users, but home entertainment buffs too. Like the Z-5500, the Z906 can accommodate up to six connections at once, but the Z906 is far better suited for an entry-level home theater. The compact console center is stackable, and all five satellites are sleek and light black/dark grey to better blend in with your other AV gear. We also like that Logitech ditched individual stands in favor of rubber sliders, so you can place the satellites in and around your home theater without having them stick out like a sore thumb. We do have some complaints with the Z906. While the speaker-set features built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS decoding, it doesn't touch Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio. There's also no HDMI pass-through, an inexcusable omission for a modern speaker-set looking to infiltrate the living room. And finally, the lack of tweeters hurts the Z906's overall performance when it comes to music. Negative points aside, there's far more to like than there is to nitpick. The Z906 is loud, it's thunderous, and it looks sexy while filling your room with sound. Whether you're looking for a entry-level home theater speaker system or a high-end 5.1 PC audio solution, the Z906 is a solid option.

HOT (Plus Point)

   NOT (Minus Point)

   Hard hitting bass
   Gets loud without getting distored
   Tons of connections
   Uses standard speaker wire
Built-in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS decoding

   No HDMI pass-through
Where's the love for Dolby TrueHD and/or DTS-HD Master Audio?
Struggles with highs when listening to music

Sinusitis is treated with medicines and home treatment methods, such as applying moist heat to your face. The goals of treatment for sinusitis are to: Improve drainage of mucus and reduce swelling in the sinuses.Relieve pain and pressure.Clear up any infection.Prevent the formation of scar tissue, and avoid permanent damage to the tissues lining the nose and sinuses.Medicines may be used to treat sinusitis, especially when it is caused by a bacterial infection. There are varying lengths of treatment with medicines-treatment may be as short as three days or last as long as several weeks or more. Medicines most often used to treat sinusitis include a combination of: Antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, which kill bacteria.Decongestants, such as pseudoephedrine, which reduce the swelling of the mucous membranes in the nose.Analgesics, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve pain.Mucolytics, such as guaifenesin, which thin the mucus.Corticosteroids, such as beclomethasone or prednisone, which reduce inflammation in the nasal passages. Some corticosteroids are used as an inhaled nasal spray .It is possible to develop "double sickening" while being treated for acute or chronic sinusitis. At first, you may begin to feel better from antibiotics and home treatment, but then your symptoms become worse and additional treatment may be needed. For more information, see: Sinusitis: Should I Take Antibiotics? For acute sinusitisShort-term (acute) sinusitis usually lasts less than 4 weeks. Up to two-thirds of people with acute sinusitis improve on their own without antibiotic treatment.1 Sinus infections are commonly caused by viral infections, which do not respond to antibiotics. Talking with your doctor will help you determine whether treatment with antibiotics is needed for your acute sinus infection. Most people recover completely when treated with an antibiotic for acute sinusitis that is caused by a bacterial infection. The number of days you take antibiotics depends on the antibiotic and how bad the infection is. When you are prescribed an antibiotic, be sure to take it until it is gone, even if you feel better. Always take an antibiotic exactly as your doctor tells you, or the infection may not go away completely. For chronic sinusitisSinusitis that lasts 8 weeks or longer is called chronic sinusitis. It is more difficult to treat and responds more slowly to antibiotics than acute sinusitis. Antibiotic therapy is usually recommended for chronic sinusitis and may require a longer course of treatment. You may need to try more than one antibiotic. A corticosteroid nasal spray that reduces inflammation and swelling of the lining of the nasal passages may also be used during treatment. In some people, a sinus infection may be caused by a fungus or a bacterium other than those normally associated with sinusitis. People who have an impaired immune system are at risk for these unusual infections. It also may include people who must use an oral or inhaled corticosteroid medication (such as prednisone). Fungal sinusitis, which accounts for a significant number of chronic sinusitis cases, does not respond to antibiotic treatment and may need treatment with antifungal medications, corticosteroids, or surgery.Surgery may be required if you have taken antibiotics for an extended period of time but still have symptoms or when complications (such as infection of facial bones) are likely. For more information, see: Sinusitis: Should I Have Surgery? What to Think AboutSinusitis may be difficult to diagnose, because it often causes the same symptoms as a cold or other viral illness, especially in its early stages. It can be particularly difficult to identify sinusitis in children. If your child or you have frequent sinus infections, learn what signs to watch for, and begin home treatment immediately.

Symptoms of chronic sinusitis are often vague and may not respond well to treatment. It may take time and patience to find a successful treatment.

The ASUS Zenbooks are stylish and offer a wide range of configurations to help consumers find an Ultrabook that fits their budgets.Overview This Ultrabook breaks the mold by using lower cost components including a traditional hard drive instead of just an SSD. Our thoughts on this setup might surprise you. Build and Design The UX32 has a classy if somewhat generic look; it doesn't have any striking features other than its thinness and bright silver color. The notebook's exterior is covered exclusively in metal alloys. The lid is a gunmetal gray while the rest of the notebook including the bottom of the chassis is silver brushed aluminum. Saying this notebook feels solid is accurate - there is virtually no chassis flex. I'm especially impressed by the rigidity of the lid; it barely moves when flexed and no ripples appear on the screen when pressure is applied to the back. This means there is plenty of protection which is important in a notebook that will be transported often. Fit and finish is good; some edges are rougher than expected but said edges don't jump out as less than acceptable quality. Those looking to upgrade the UX32 will find themselves out of luck; there are no user-accessible panels to replace components like memory or the storage drive. The battery is also not user-changeable but as we'll see later in this review, there is plenty of battery life to go around. Input and Output Ports Port selection is minimal on an Ultrabook due to the nature of their design; the UX32 includes all of the ports that count though including a full-size HDMI. Ethernet is not available which is unusual; most Ultrabooks make it available via a dongle. Somehow I doubt the inclusion of Ethernet is a factor in most Ultrabook shopper's minds. All picture descriptions shown below are listed from left to right. Left: USB 3.0, media card reader Right: Headphone/microphone combination jack, VGA (via dongle), HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, AC power jackKeyboard and Touchpad The full-size keyboard has chiclet-style keys. The white backlighting has several brightness levels and is quite functional in a darker environment. There is no flex and the keys have plenty of travel providing ample tactile feedback. Good feedback is what most Ultrabooks are missing. The keys have a soft but not rubbery feel and have a nice smooth surface. It's quiet too; my complaint with this keyboard is that the home, end, pgup and pgdn keys are integrated as secondary functions into the arrow keys. These keys should be dedicated. My other complaint is related; the power on/off key is a keyboard key in the top right corner. This key should be its own button in the chassis itself, away from the keyboard. The large touchpad is a clickpad; press down anywhere to produce a click. I like this clickpad better than most I've tried; it doesn't require an unnatural amount of pressure to produce a click and the required pressure is consistent from front to back. I wish the clicks were quieter but overall this is an excellent solution. Screen and Speakers The UX32 has a 13.3-inch display. The best part of this display is the anti-glare coating which prevents annoying reflections in well-lit environments. The resolution is merely 1366x768, which is the minimum notebooks are sold with. Note that the Zenbook Prime is also sold in this same size with an amazing 1920x1080 resolution (for more money, naturally). As it stands the 1366x768 resolution on this unit means a lot of scrolling and an inability to use two windows side by side. There is more good news about this display however: the picture quality is considerably better than expected; nearly all 1366x768 displays I tested up to this point have been lacking. The contrast of this display is the most noticeable improvement; black and white levels look less washed out. Additionally the saturation is markedly better; colors actually have some life to them. This display is advertised as having wide viewing angles and they are better; the display still washes out at extreme vertical angles but it's not as quickly as I'm used to. Side to side viewing angles are nearly perfect. One last observation about this display is how far it tilts back; it doesn't go far enough past vertical, only to the 45 degree mark. Overall this display is better than average and the Zenbook Prime is available with a better display if desired. ASUS uses a custom-engineered Bang & Olufsen speaker system that produces impressive sound given the size of this notebook. The sound resonates from the entire chassis not just two small speakers. They get loud enough for a few people to watch a movie and have appreciable bass.
Performance and Benchmarks ASUS ZenBook Prime UX32 has the following configuration 13.3-inch anti-glare 720p display with wide viewing angles (1366x768 resolution)Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bitIntel Core i5-3317U dual-core processor (1.7GHz, up to 2.6GHz Turbo Boost, 3MB cache, 17W TDP)Integrated Intel HD graphics4GB DDR3-1600 RAM (max. supported)500GB 5400RPM hard drive (Hitachi HTS545050A7E380, 7mm thickness)24GB SanDisk SSD i100 cacheIntel Centrino Advanced-N 6235Integrated Bluetooth V4.0Integrated HD webcamNo internal optical drive1-year limited warranty w/ accidental damage protection48Wh li-ion batteryWeight: 3.2 lbs.Dimensions: 12.83 x 8.9 x 0.72 inchesPrice as configured: $899.99The specifications would be unremarkable for an Ultrabook save for two things, the first of which is the storage. The UX32 includes a traditional hard drive with a small 24GB SSD which is not Ultrabook-like. The SSD is slaved to the hard drive to help improve performance. The advantage is that the UX32 has a lot of space, double that of Ultrabooks using the largest SSDs available (256GB). The second interesting item is the display; it has an anti-glare surface and wide viewing angles. This is one of the first 1366x768 resolution displays we've used that has better than average picture quality. It's worth noting that the Zenbook Prime is also available with a crazy 1920x1080 resolution IPS display. This configuration of the UX32 did just okay in our benchmarks; the performance holds up to everyday usage including Internet browsing but feels sluggish next to other Ultrabooks; the hard drive is unquestionably slow. Other variants of the Zenbook Prime are available with SSD-only solutions.
wPrime processor comparison results (lower scores mean better performance):

PCMark Vantage is an older benchmark that measures overall system performance (higher scores mean better performance):

PCMark 7 is a newer benchmark and measures overall system performance in Windows 7 (higher scores mean better performance):

3DMark06 measures overall graphics card performance for gaming (higher scores mean better performance):

CrystalDiskMark storage drive performance test:

Heat and Noise The UX32 is more or less silent in all operations. The cooling system pushes air out the back of the notebook towards the display hinge, something that I'm not a fan of; I like to see the air exhausted directly out of the chassis instead of being deflected. Nonetheless the cooling system works well; fan noise is just about nonexistent with no whine and it keeps the notebook cool even under full load. The hard drive makes subtle clicking noises which are audible in an otherwise silent room. Battery Life We measured six hours, 35 minutes of battery life during our standard battery run-down test (Windows 7 Balanced power profile, 70% display brightness, wireless active and refreshing a web page every 60 seconds). This is an unremarkable time for an Ultrabook; it falls within the range of acceptability.
Battery life test results (higher scores mean better battery life):

The ASUS ZenBook UX32 is a recommendable Ultrabook; it has the right mix of quality and features. The display is pleasantly of good quality despite having just a 1366x768 resolution; the keyboard has the best feel of any Ultrabook we've tried and the touchpad is excellent; it even has decent speakers. One area where this notebook could improve is in performance; the included hard drive/small SSD combo while innovative (most Ultrabooks have limited storage space since they only have SSDs) is slow and the UX32 like most Ultrabooks can't be upgraded.
Other than the hard drive we find little to dislike about the UX32. ASUS Zenbook Primes are available with better displays and different storage solutions; things can only get better from our review unit. Pros:

Better than average display
Good keyboard and touchpad
Nice speakers
Solid build quality

  Cons:

Slow hard drive

So with a traffic exchange, JustBeenPaid makes a legally compliant program called Profitclicking with additional benefits & Goodies for members of the high return traffic exchange. Profit Clicking Questions & Answers: 1. What is Profit Clicking and why the change? Profit Clicking is a global holdings company with a solid history of success and growth. The acquisition of JustBeenPaid by Profit Clicking has been in the works for some time now. We have kept this information quiet on purpose to avoid the potential of the details being leaked out to our competitors. Profit Clicking brings a retail division to the already exciting business model and membership base of JBP. Among the products is an exciting new state-o f-the-art traffic exchange system that will allow you to continue receiving the financial benefits you experienced with JustBeenPaid, however, this business model will be slightly adjusted to meet our business requirements. Additi onal products including contact management software, video distribution technology, and a complete pay-per-click marketing model will be coming soon. More information and details will be provided as updates are given. 2. Why did Frederick Mann retire? Over the past several months, Frederick has had a number of additional programs in development. These projects are very much in line with Frederick.s lifelong goals and works. After much consideration, Frederick decided to reti re from JustBeenPaid in order to have the time to allocate his efforts towards these new projects. He felt the time had come for this evolution which was facilitated when Profit Clicking sought to acquire JustBeenPaid. Frederick w ill, however, be assisting us with the successful completion of the acquisition and implementation of Profit Clicking. We are grateful for his visionary wisdom and leadership which has paved the way for all of us to have long last ing success in business. 3. Is Frederick Mann involved with Profit Clicking? Frederick Mann has been working on the sale of JBP to Profit Clicking for many months. One aspect of the negotiations was Frederick.s insistence that the existing JBP staff remain in place and the existing JBP Executives retai n the operational oversight. Based on this, Frederick.s vision will remain intact. No, Frederick will not be a part of the new Profit Clicking regime going forward once the acquisition and transition to Profit Clicking is complete however; he laid the groundwork for his vision to live on. 4. Who owns Profit Clicking? Profit Clicking is owned by an international global holdings company with a solid history of success and growth. The details regarding the individual company principals of the organization are proprietary. The existing team th at has supported the JBP community will retain the same roles and responsibilities going forward, however, the new Profit Clicking team will first assist with the completion of the acquisition set-up and then we will begin adding the new retail division components as well as new technology to the website. 5. Is Profit Clicking compliant with the various commissions and jurisdictions? Profit Clicking will continually strive to be legally compliant in all areas in which we do business, however, as with any company, this is an ongoing and continual process. To that end, we are currently in communication with numerous organizations to ensure that we are observing and adhering to all necessary regulatory requirements set forth by these organizations. Since Profit Clicking is a global organization and given the size and complexity of eac h country in the world, we suggest that each member checks the local laws and regulations governing their particular area to ensure compliance requirements are being met. Profit Clicking simply cannot be responsible for obtaining the ever changing requirements for every country. Additionally, please note that our corporate law firm is not authorized to provide any legal advice to members. however, if you have a compliance or legal issue that you believe sh ould be addressed by Profit Clicking, you may contact our legal counsel. All contact information can be found on the footer of this website. 6. As a member of JBP, and now a member of Profit Clicking, do I have to sign up all over again? How do I sign in? No, as a matter of fact, when you go to the former JustBeenPaid website, you will be redirected to the new Profit Clicking website and prompted to migrate your information over. To do this, you will simply be led to enter your member ID and password then make sure your account information is correct. After doing this, ALL your data, will be redirected over to the new site. 7. If I forgot my password and user ID, what can I do to retrieve them? Normally, to determine your Member ID and password, you simply click on the URP .Forgot Password. and follow the instructions there. Otherwise, the following may help: If you have forgotten or lost your User ID, go to your emai l and sort for emails from JustBeenPaid. Look for an old email notifying you that one of your Tripler purchases was processed. On that email will be a number that looks like this: 5222081-6467838. The first part of the number, 522 2081 is your User ID. Next, to retrieve your password, click on Login at the top of the Home page and then click on Forgot Password? enter your User ID and click on the Submit button. You will be emailed a reset password link. Onc e you have established your new password, you can log into the new Profit Clicking website. 8. What happens to all of my old referrals? There is no need to be concerned about the referrals you had in the previous system. When you enter your information into the new Profit Clicking website, everything will be migrated over, including your referrals. 9. Are all of our affiliate pages etc. going to have to get changed by us? No need to worry about going back to all your old JBP affiliate pages and banners to make changes because the Profit Clicking staff has been hard at work for months taking care of that for you! Over a period of time, you will b e able to access your new marketing site and from there will have access to nearly 100 pre-made banners, splash pages, landing pages and sales pages. Keeps your eye out for announcements regarding this very soon. 10. Why do we have a sign up Security pin, what is it used for? We are requesting that you establish a unique 4-6 digit code which will be used as a security measure when requesting assistance from Support and access to your account is necessary in order for them to help you. Profit Click ing is dedicated to raising the bar with the support you receive on our new website. 11. Do we fund the same way is in JBP? The formation of East Sports Academy (ESA) was rather a responsibility decision and subsequently inspired by our teacher, Yasunori Sekiwa sensei, we decide to promote the Japanese weaponry arts within our society. With the assistant from few fellow weaponry arts lover, ESA was able to grow although it was a rough journey. But as we are trained with positive mind set and our hard work pays off with today's consequence. We will further grow and no obstacles shall hassle us from promoting what we loved. Kenshi spirit lives forever!

Mobile phones are increasingly becoming less phone-like and more computer-like. This has led the mobile phone vendors to adapt to the trend and come up with new cutting edge designs with more computer-like functions. If the vendor chose to stagnate, that would mean an eminent danger to their market share in the mobile world. This is what has happened to Nokia. Once, Nokia was the largest mobile phone vendor in the World, and it chose to fall behind with some decisions it took with its phones. It has resulted in a mass scale cost-reduction strategy, in Nokia, to recover from the fall. While what happened to Nokia was a tragedy, it seems to learn from its mistakes, and starting to shine through the flames. The Nokia 500 and Nokia 700 were introduced at a time like this.
These are of course, well-aligned mobile phones, still not completely computer-like to compete with the rivals, yet better than they have been doing. They go with the conventional Nokia model and come with a decent price tag, yet with good performance inside too. They are mainly targeted at the middle layer of the market, where people want to be tech savvy but, in fact, they are not. Having the smoothness of mobile phones, both phones fit easily in the hand. Nokia 500 is rather on the thicker side of the mobile phone spectrum, while Nokia 700 scores a good 9.7mm. Both come with 3.2 inches touchscreens and well laid interfaces, but the operating systems are different. Let’s take a look at what’s actually inside in each one of them.
  Nokia 500
Any Smartphone that was released after September aiming to compete with its rivals had few significant features. 1GHz + processor, 256MB + RAM, and 5MP camera bundled with a fast OS. Nokia has started to catch up to the competition and has released Nokia 500 in accordance with that trend. The 1 GHz ARM 11 processor along with the 256MB RAM does not score the 99th percentile of the spectrum, but it doesn’t score the 20th percentile either! Pretty words aside, the hardware specs of Nokia 500 is decent enough for a modern smartphone.
It weighs slightly lighter than Nokia 700 but is thicker and thus, feels bulkier in hand. Nokia 500 comes in fancy colors like Black, Azure Blue, Coral Red, Purple, Khaki, Orange, Green, Pink and Silver. For those who are trying to locate a phone with a variety of colors, this would be a great choice (Mind you, there aren’t a lot of smartphones with this much of color variety).
Even though, the hardware is mid-range, the operating system also plays a major role in defining a mobile phone. Especially the usability matrix is almost always dependent on the Operating System in use. Nokia 500 comes with Nokia’s Symbian Anna OS. While not been as good as Apple iOS or Android, Anna has introduced some refreshingly nice features for Symbian OS. It has a new set of rounded icons, which pleases the eye and smoothly scroll in real-time. It also features a full QWERTY virtual keyboard which was lacking in its previous versions. The browser has been upgraded to support HTML5 partially, and it also supports flash lite, but it is said that quite sloppy performance is to be expected on flash content. It also introduces multi touch input, a new Calendar application and an email application that is considerably better than their predecessors.
Nokia 500 comes with a 3.2inches TFT Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution with 360 x 640 pixels with a pixel density of 229ppi. It also features an accelerometer and a proximity sensor to switch off the screen. It has 2GB internal storage, and the user can also expand the capacity up to 32GB using a microSD card. The HSDPA 14.4Mbps connection allows Nokia 500 to enjoy the fast browsing speeds, while Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g enables it to be connected wherever it goes. The 5MP primary camera allows capturing decent images, but the video recording is at VGA which is a flow in this device. It also doesn’t have front camera to the disappointment of video chatters.
Nokia 500 is bundled with normal Nokia application portfolio and besides that; it features A-GPS and Geo-tagging too. The digital compass and the improved voice dial feature enhance the user experience. While Nokia is also known for a high battery time, Nokia 500 only comes with a 7-hours talk time with a 1100 mAh battery.
  Nokia 700
This can be rightly identified as the big brother of Nokia 500. It comes with almost the same dimensions, but considerably thinner and slightly heavier. Nokia 700 was also released in September 2011; thus, it can be deduced that the two phones were intended to address two different niche markets, but we fail to identify a critical differentiator between the two phones for them to take and individual stand. Nonetheless, let us look at the big brother.
Nokia 700 comes either in white or grey color; monotonous? Yes, but still vividly colored compared to the color spectrum of available smartphones. It features a 1GHz ARM 11 processor with a 2D/3D Graphics hardware accelerator with OpenGL ES 2.0 support. The 512MB RAM provided with the phone is marginally sufficient to give a good user experience, as well. Nokia 700 features a 3.2inches AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen with 360 x 640 pixels resolution and 229 ppi pixel density. It also features multi touch input method and accelerometer and proximity sensor. The internal storage is as the same as Nokia 500 and can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
Nokia 500 features the new Symbian Anna OS, and since the phones were released at the same time, it’s fair to think that Nokia 700 would also have Anna OS. We are sorry to disappoint you, but you’re wrong to think that. Nokia 700 comes with a more improved version of Anna OS, called Symbian Belle OS. It is true that the Symbian OS is at its last days, but it hasn’t really prevented from Nokia introducing new versions of it. The new Symbian Belle OS has taken an edge to make the Symbian OS more and more like iOS or Android. It has free-form, differently sized live widgets in its extended 6 home screens. It has an improved status bar, and rather modernized navigation to enhance the user experience. Nokia has made sure to introduce a variety of applications for Belle OS that includes the powerful business app from Microsoft which includes Lync, Sharepoint, OneNote and Exchange ActiveSync which is a brilliant move. Surprisingly, Belle OS also supports Near Field Communication, which is something we all have to look forward to. It also gives a virtual snap of the applications you are running currently before switching to one of them, just like Windows preview in the task bar. Belle OS also has an informative lock screen which provides you the details like missed calls, unread message count and more.
Having powered by a pretty neat OS, Nokia 700 does not fail to entertain fast browsing speeds with the HSDPA 14.4Mbps link along with the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It comes with a 5MP camera which has Geo-tagging enabled with A-GPS and can record videos at 720p. But Nokia 700 lacks the front camera, which is a heartbreaker for video chatters. Among many new features introduced, Nokia 700 has the NFC support and a TV-out, which comes in very handy. It also has a browser that partially supports HTML5, but the flash content is still sloppy. Nokia 700 has a 1080mAh battery, which can score a decent talk time of 7 hours, which is not bad for a smartphone.
   Nokia 500
Nokia 700 A Brief Comparison of Nokia 500 vs Nokia 700
• Nokia 500 is slightly smaller and lighter (111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1mm) than Nokia 700 (110 x 50.7 x 9.7mm), but it is also thicker.
• Nokia 500 features a TFT Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, whereas Nokia 700 features an AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen with the same size and resolution.• Nokia 500 comes with a 256MB RAM while Nokia 700 comes with a 512MB RAM.
• Nokia 500 has a 5MP camera that can record videos at VGA while Nokia 700 can record videos in 720p.
• Nokia 500 comes with Symbian Anna OS while Nokia 700 comes with Symbian Belle OS.
• Nokia 500 has a better battery but features the same talk time (1110mAh / 7 hours) as Nokia 700 (1080mAh / 7 hours).

  Conclusion
All we can say is that, Nokia is trying to catch up with its rivals using these designs. It is a fact that they come with a decent price tag and thus Nokia may succeed in grabbing a niche market. But the fact still stands that, their Symbian OS is not the best they can have in a smartphone. It seems like Nokia has realized that and is increasingly adding value to their generic OS. Thus, the introduced Symbian Anna and Belle are good improvements, but it is inevitable that they would have to give up on Symbian in the near future. Since Nokia has also started coming up with Windows Mobile phones, it seems they would be on the game again, but the end of that ratter, where does it leave these two phones. Well, as far as we can say, both of these are pretty decent smartphones and would suffice for average use. If you’re looking for a smartphone that can do almost anything a high-end smartphone can do but still has a low price tag, then these are your babies. Nokia 500 is addressed to the general use while Nokia 700 is aimed at the business users with the Microsoft applications they have provided with it.

  Internet encyclopedia

An Internet encyclopedia is an encyclopedia accessible via the World Wide Web. The idea to build a free encyclopedia using the Internet can be traced at least to the 1993 Interpedia proposal; it was planned as an encyclopedia on the Internet to which everyone could contribute materials. The project never left the planning stage and was overtaken by a key branch of old printed encyclopedias.

  Digitization of old content
   Sinhala Encyclopedia
In January 1995, Project Gutenberg started to publish the ASCII text of the Encyclopædia Britannica, 11th edition (1911), but disagreement about the method halted the work after the first volume. For trademark reasons this has been published as the Gutenberg Encyclopedia. In 2002, ASCII text of and 48 sounds of music was published on http://1911encyclopedia.org/ by source; a copyright claim was added to the materials, but it probably has no legal validity. Project Gutenberg has restarted work on digitising and proofreading this encyclopedia; as of June 2005 it had not yet been published. Meanwhile, in the face of competition from rivals such as Encarta, the latest Britannica was digitized by its publishers, and sold first as a CD-ROM and later as an online service. Other digitization projects have made progress in other titles. One example is Easton's Bible Dictionary (1897) digitized by the Christian Classics Ethereal Library. Probably the most important and successful digitization of an encyclopedia was the Bartleby Project's online adaptation of the Columbia Encyclopedia, tenth Edition, http://www.bartleby.com/65/ in early 2000 and is updated periodically.
   Creation of new content
Another related branch of activity is the creation of new, free contents on a volunteer basis. In 1991, the participants of the Usenet newsgroup alt.fan.douglas-adams started a project to produce a real version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a fictional encyclopedia used in the works of Douglas Adams. It became known as Project Galactic Guide. Although it originally aimed to contain only real, factual articles, policy was changed to allow and encourage semi-real and unreal articles as well. Project Galactic Guide contains over 1700 articles, but no new articles have been added since 2000; this is probably partly due to the founding of h2g2, a more official project along similar lines.

Home Security Systems & Spy Camera Review For Home and Business

There really are a few pointers that just one really should consider with them when searching for the ideal wireless home security system. They are not just what types of safety cameras could possibly be used nor, for that matter, no issue whether the cctv dvr is using the required standard. It also has obtained to finish using the target and location using the method and its cameras, as will very likely be the overall performance of cameras in bad gentle furthermore to the clarity using the pictures they record.
Wireless home security system possibly be used broadly in property or home income talk, but area is equally significant in conditions of choosing the ideal system. To this end, just one demands getting completely obvious on precisely where cameras are getting positioned earlier to choosing a system, with some using the particular problems getting addressed getting no issue whether cameras will very likely be used outside and, if so, their range from the important thing building. If they are getting used indoors, then their range from the electronic movement photo recorder and durability of signal remote cameras have.
With regards outside cameras, wireless home security system, there could possibly be considered a should look at the IP rating as this relates especially in the direction of the ability using the electronic camera to with stand the elements. bear in mind that in between wind, bad weather and snow, any outside gadget is susceptible to instant pieces of flying debris from the air, a range of humidity and humidity ranges and condensation, all of which could possibly be extremely damaging to some electronic camera that is not created robustly enough. Indoors, the signal from electronic camera to internet or recorder should stay powerful or beneficial footage could possibly be lost, although the growth of stand alone cameras with inbuilt documenting competencies negates that risk.
Lux will very likely be the standard measurement of light, using the reduced lux rating the reduced the level of illumination in any granted place. When it arrives cctv cameras, that is of particular significance for outside techniques contemplating that of the should report much more than night, furthermore to the fact that their eyesight is not typically aided by flood lights or area lights. The lux rating that just one would like to possess is zero or one, the two of which show how the electronic camera can recorded obviously in very, really reduced light.

ITEMS REQUIRED 1. Plain Wafer Card 2. Sim card reader 3. Software to extract Ki & IMSI 4. Wafer Card Programmer 5. Software to program the wafer card
INTRODUCTION TO SIM CARD CLONING This is a simple and complete guide to sim cloning. With the help of this guide, you will be able to get your sim cloned. This guide is applicable for cloning COMP128V1 version simcards. Even though the newer algorithms can’t be cloned now, almost 75% of us are using the cards with the COMP128V1 algorithm. Here comes the relevance of this guide. The working on new algorithms COMP128V2 & COMP128V3 are going on and lets hope to get this new algorithms cracked soon. Please don’t use this guide for cheating or harming others. Use this at your own risk and the author will not be responsible for any further issues.
TIPS Always search internet to find the items, software and news. Use search engines. They are free and especially for our needs. You may not get these items from your local electronic shops. The main reason is that only a few people know about this. A major group of electronic shops don’t know what a silver wafer card is and what a wafer card programmer is.
Wafer Cards The sim cards we get from the operator are not programmable. So we need to find some plain wafer cards for the purpose. There are mainly three types of wafer cards suitable for GSM cloning. Gold Card, Silver Card and Green Card. Out of these Silver Wafer Cards are used most. So we will take a closer look at Silver wafer Card. Silver wafer card consists of a PIC 16F876 and an EEPROM 24C64. These two electronic components are wired as shown in the below circuit.

You can buy plain silver cards from http://www.pulsat.com and if you dont find one there just search for “silver wafer card” or “sim card programmer” at http://www.yahoo.com or http://www.google.com.
If you can’t find a plain wafer card in your place or if you can’t get one from the internet, you can try the alternate method of manufacturing a silver wafer card by wiring the above circuit. It works fine with almost all the handsets. The only drawback is that, it won’t fit inside the handset. We need to place it outside the handset.
You can construct your own sim card reader economically with the following schematic. It uses minimum components and works with almost all the scanning software. If you need to increase the speed of the scanning you can replace the 3.57Mhz crystal with a 6.12MHz or 7.14Mhz. The simcards will not support a speed of more than 10Mhz. Also you can try other simcard readers from various providers. It can be USB too. But make sure about the compatibility with the software you are using.

Software to extract Ki, IMSI & ICCID
We need some software to extract the secret key Ki stored in our simcard, The scanning time depends on the software, usage, programmer and the simcard. Some cards take less than 30 minutes and some can take up to 36 hours. I suggest Woron Scan 1.09 for the scanning. Its is a pretty one and much faster. You can download it from the internet. This program took maximum of 6 hours and a minimum of 25 minutes to me. The main feature of this program is, it can recognize whether the card is COMP128 V1 or not. This helps us in wasting the time and wasting our original simcard.
The next one is Sim Easy which can be downloaded from http://simeasy.tlzj18.com. With this software you can scan for Ki and it can be used to edit the contacts stored in the simcard. Yes, we can read the messages too with this software. Some simcards will not work with this software. You can simply cheat the program to connect with those simcards too. Just remove the simcard and press connect in the menu. Then insert the simcard back within a second. You can now use that simcard with this program.
Cardinal from http://www.mgfware.com and Dejans SimScan from http://users.net.yu/~dejan can also be used to extract Ki from the simcards.
Wafer Card Programmer (EEPROM Programmer + PIC Programmer)
This programmer consists of two programmers incorporated into one. One PIC programmer and one EEPROM programmer. The logic behind the programmer is, the EEPROM inside the wafer card is programmed through the PIC. I suggest Millenium 2000VX MAX programmer for programming the wafer card. It is a very economical programmer without any housing. Even though it is cheap and looks like scrap, it is too powerful and suits best for our needs. Almost all the wafer cards used in GSM can be programmed with it. You can get one from http://www.pulsat.com/satellite/site/details.php?product_id=62. You can also use programmers like Dynamite programmer and updated versions of Millenium programmer. Any way i dont prefer you to make your own programmer. Even though you are an expert in electronics and computer, you have to waste much of your time to program the wafer card. Anyway the below circuits will give you and idea for the programmer.
Here is the circuits for a PIC programmer and EEPROM programmer. The first one JDM2 programmer is for programming the PIC and the second one is an EEPROM programmer. But these are individual programmers for your reference only. I am not sure about its working, since i haven’t constructed it. Anyway the source says its 100% working.
The third one is the programmer which works as both smart mouse and phoenix. This works fine with ICProg. The only drawback is that this would not be as easy for a beginner. Anyway just try your luck with this programmer. The PCB layout is also attached, if you wish to make your own circuit board. The bitch mouse programmer has two jumpers with it and the jumper settings are also mentioned in the schematic. One is for inverting the reset pulse and other is to change the working frequency, for increasing the speed.

Software to program the wafer card
Before checking the software to program the wafer card, we need to choose what to be programmed on the plain wafer card. Anyway we need one file for PIC and one for the EEPROM. We can make the plain wafer card in to a 10 in 1 simcard, a 16 in 1 simcard or even a simcard with only two numbers. But if we have the provision, i suggest to utilize the maximum from it. So i suggest a 16 in 1. In order to make this dream come true, we need some additional software too. I suggest SimEmu 6.01 from http://www.simemu.cjb.net or pic-ador from http://borodza.com/pic-ador . With these software you can create the hex files for PIC and EEPROM.
In order to program these files to the wafer card, we need the software compatible with the programmer. If you are using a Millenium 2000VX Programmer you can use CardMaster with it. If using a Dynamite Programmer, the programming software usually comes bundled with the programmer. You can use ICProg also.
PROCESS STEP1 : Insert the simcard in the simcard reader and use the software to extract the Ki, IMSI and ICCID of your simcard. Here i used Woron scan 1.09

STEP2 : Make the files for PIC and EEPROM with SimEmu Configurator or 16 in 1 SimEmu Configurator by Pic-ador. If you are using the SimEmu Configurator by Pic-ador uncheck the A3A8 check box under security. Please dont enable this even from the sim services menu. If enabled, it counts back to zero and when it reaches zero, all bad things can happen to your simcard. In the configurator you can set the number of ADN, FDN and SMS. You can use the formula “16448 = (ADN – 51 ) x 32 + SMS x 176 + FDN x 32 must be less than 6480” for silver wafer cards. Then generate the Hex files for PIC and EEPROM by clicking the Generate Hex file. With this configurator, in addition to the 16 number slots, you can make the simcard a Motorola Test card too. In 16 in 1 configurator the positions are from 0-9 and from A-F. Each position can be customized by individual PIN an PUK codes.

STEP3 : Now we have the files to be written to the Silver Wafer card. For this we need the Wafer card programmer and the software for programming. Here i am using the Millenium 2000VX Max programmer and the Cardmaster 2.1 software. Connect the programmer and run the software. Select the type of card you are using. Select the port by clicking setup > port. If the port set by you is correct the red colour with message on status bar changes to yellow and shows no simcard. Insert the simcard and load the files for PIC and EEPROM in the file to PIC and file to EEPROM fields respectively. Don’t change any other settings. Now you are at the last stage. Press F3 or click edit > Auto Program. You can watch the status bar about what is happening. Programming the pic.. programming the EEPROM… programming the pic…. verifying…. and at last you will get the message that the card is programmed successfully. Here you may ask the question why the PIC is programmed again after programming the EEPROM?. The PIC is first programmed with the EEPROM loader to program the EEPROM. then the EEPROM is programmed through the pic. After that the contents in the pic is erased and the actual file is programmed in the PIC.

STEP4 : Now you are completed. Take the card out of the programmer, cut it to the size of the normal simcard and put it in the handset. After switching on, the handset asks for PIN code. Enter any four digit number. This will be the PIN for your first position “0”. It asks for the PUK too for the first position. The phone switches on with no network or “Sim card not registered error”. This is normal because no operator information is there on the simcard. Now we are moving to the final step of your dream. Browse through the menu and find the Sim Tool Kit. Now it should be named as Sim-Emu 6.01. Open it and you can see the menus Configure, Select Phone and Information. Select Configure and go to config postion. It asks for the position. You can select any position from 0-9 and A-F. After selecting the position it asks for a PIN and PUK. Always provide different PIN and PUK for each positions. It helps us to switch to a number directly when the handset is switched on. After PIN and PUK it asks for KI, IMSI and ICCID. You can now recall the extracted values from STEP1 and enter it to appropriate fileds. Now you are done. You have a cloned simcard and moreover you are going to have a simcard with 16 cloned mobile numbers.

Michael Clarke Duncan, nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the 1999 film "The Green Mile," died Monday morning at age 54, according to a representative for his family.
Duncan "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered," a written statement from Joy Fehily said.
Clarke died at a Los Angeles hospital where he had been since having the heart attack more than seven weeks ago.
According to TMZ, it was Duncan's girlfriend Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, a reality star and former contestant on "The Apprentice," who had acted quickly and provided lifesaving efforts when he had the heart attack.
Most recently he was on the TV series, "The Finder," on the Fox network.
His co-star Mercedes Masohn tweeted: "Today is a sad day. Michael Clark Duncan passed away this morning. Known for his moving performance in The Green Mile. RIP MCD. You'll b missed."
According to Entertainment Weekly, the TV series was canceled in May.
A towering and hulking figure, the 6-foot-5-inch Duncan also was known for his deep voice.
A Chicago native, Duncan went to college at Alcorn State University in Mississippi with plans to major in communications, but he dropped out and moved home.
In his 20s, he worked digging ditches for Peoples Gas during the day and as a bouncer at night. He told CNN in 1999 that his coworkers at the gas company called him "Hollywood" because he'd often talk about becoming a movie star.
"I'd be digging a ditch and they'd say, 'Hey, man, Bruce Willis wants to talk to you about a movie.' And they'd just crack up laughing," he said while doing press for 'The Green Mile.'
"Those coworkers had no way of knowing how that joke would turn on them."
In 1990, he decided to measure up his nickname and he moved to Los Angeles. He worked as a bodyguard then got a part in a commercial as a drill sergeant.
More roles followed -- often ones that depended more on his 315-pound frame than his acting ability. He was a guard in "Back in Business," a bouncer in "A Night at the Roxbury," a bouncer for 2 Live Crew in "The Players Club," and a bouncer at a bar in the Warren Beatty film "Bulworth."
In 1998, he landed his first significant movie part, playing Bear in the film "Armageddon," where a crew of drillers from an oil rig save the Earth from an asteroid.
"Armageddon" was the beginning of his friendship with Bruce Willis. They appeared in four films together. And it was Willis who called 'The Green Mile' director Frank Darabont to put in a good word for Duncan.
In the Oscar-nominated film, Duncan played John Coffey, the huge black man wrongly convicted in a Louisiana town for the rapes and murders of two white girls. Coffey has supernatural powers, though; his hands can heal, even bring back the dead.
A microcosm of faith, Coffey is a messenger of hope and lost hope who develops a relationship with Tom Hanks' character, a guard named Paul Edgecomb.
Film critic Roger Ebert wrote that Duncan's performance "is both acting and being." Ebert tweeted Monday that Duncan was "A striking screen presence."
Duncan was nominated for an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor, which was won that year by Michael Caine for "The Cider House Rules."
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who starred with Duncan in the movie "The Scorpion King" said on Twitter: "When something happens, we always say it happens for a reason ... Michael Clarke Duncan 12/10/57 - 9/3/12 I'll miss you my brother."
According to the Internet Movie Database, Duncan had two completed projects that have yet to be released on a nationwide basis. He is slated to appear in "The Challenger," a boxing movie written and directed by Kent Moran. He will also appear in the Robert Townsend film, "In the Hive," about an alternative school for boys who have been kicked out of other schools.
One of his co-stars in that film was Vivica A. Fox.
"My heart is shocked and saddened!! RIP Micheal Clark Duncan. U were the most gentle giant and the most gracious of a man! U wont b 4gotten! " she tweeted.
  Tribute to the late actor:
Tributes to "Green Mile" actor Michael Clarke Duncan poured in Monday on Twitter as word of his death spread.
Here's how some celebrities and people who knew Duncan remembered him:

Squint your eyes enough to see who are in this picture
There was an interesting article on PsychWorld last week. It points out how us humans, as intelligent creatures, have a pretty remarkable ability to recognize faces. But what would happen if the faces we see got obscured in some way? Like upside-down heads with inverted eyes and lips? How about if they were made into pixelized blocks, for instance? Would we still able to make out who might be depicted in those obscured images? These pixelized block portraits were inspired by Leon Harmon and Bela Julesz’s 1973 Lincoln Illusion. If I’m right, there should be no problem for you to recognize who are the famous people in the following images.Try squinting your eyes as much as you can, or look from afar if you need to. The only thing that might prevent you from recognizing the correct celebrity, is if you are not very familiar with American cultureI just can’t believe our brain’s ability to pick up a face from such intensively reduced images! When you think about it for a second, these images are consisted of just a few single-colored squares! Also, be sure to notice, how photos become almost sharp if you squint your eyes enough . Solution can be found at the end of the post.
